Job Summary
The Executive Director of Community Management will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our community association management division within the assigned region and/or state. You will lead a team dedicated to providing exceptional service to our clients and ensuring the smooth functioning of the communities we manage. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of community association management principles.Supervisor Responsibilities
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new onsite and Portfolio Community Association Managers.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities
Team Leadership- Provide strategic direction and guidance to the community association management team.
- Mentor and develop team members to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Oversee the execution of all operational aspects of community association management, including financial management, maintenance, vendor relations, and compliance.
- Develop and implement efficient processes and procedures to streamline operations and improve service delivery.
- Monitor key performance indicators and metrics to track the effectiveness of operations and identify areas for improvement.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, concerns, and escalations.
- Build strong relationships with community association boards and stakeholders.
- Conduct regular meetings with clients to review performance, address issues, and ensure client satisfaction.
- Work closely with accounting to develop and manage budgets for each community association.
- Oversee the collection of dues and assessments, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Review financial reports and statements to ensure compliance with budgetary goals and financial best practices.
- Identify and onboard qualified vendors and contractors to provide services to community associations.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements to ensure favorable terms and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor vendor performance and address any issues or concerns promptly.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and governing documents.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.
- Assist community association boards in developing and implementing policies and procedures to promote compliance and good governance.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of Federal and State laws governing the operation of community associations.
- Good working knowledge of the community’s governing documents and rules.
- Excellent people skills and proven ability to maintain working relationships with residents and volunteers.
- Superior communication and networking ability.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- The ability to multi-task on a variety of levels with the utmost of focus and professionalism.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Must be able to work longer than an eight-hour day or a forty-hour week*.
- Must be able to respond to after-hours emergencies as necessary*.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate Management, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in community association management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Industry certifications such as Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) or Association Management Specialist (AMS) preferred.
Work Location
- Remote role with required travel for onsite meetings, client visits, and community needs.
- Hybrid work may be available depending on region and business needs.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Remote role with travel as needed.
- Works both indoors and outdoors.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and talking on a phone.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs. at a time.
